Clive Lewis
While studying at The Ontario College of Art in Toronto Clive became
interested in typography and Letterpress printing and for a few years worked a lot with old wood and lead type. It wasn’t until a friend asked
him to illustrate a poster in the late ‘80s that he started to engrave.
His work encompasses both landscapes and more abstract concepts, all of which utilize the expressive lines and solid ink coverage that engraving and relief printing offer. His work has been described as being “strong and evocative and beautifully executed.”
His love of Georgian Bay and for his Rural roots shows up often in his prints.
Clive’s work is in collections worldwide.
