Rhonda Hewitson
Rhonda is a self taught mixed media abstract painter. She has been painting for 12 years and loves to experiment with textures and bright, bold colours.
Over the years Rhonda has experimented with many techniques, but much of her work incorporates the use of a palette knife. This gives additional texture and body to her pieces.
Almost all of her work uses acrylic paints and mediums. Occasionally she has worked with oils, but loves how manipulative acrylics can be when mixed with other mediums.
Recently, Rhonda started incorporating resin into some of her pieces. It creates a beautiful shine and finish to the piece. The resin pulls out the pigments in the paint as it reflects light, making the colours more vibrant.
